Organizational and Activist Wellbeing

Organizational and Activist Wellbeing

People working in demanding environments need support that reflects the pressures of their roles. DREF helps organizations examine how leadership, workload, communication, and support practices affect staff well-being.

For human rights and civil society organizations, this work can include the emotional demands of activism, boundaries, peer support, and the responsibilities of institutions supporting their teams. The aim is to develop realistic practices that fit the organization and its context.

This service suits NGO leaders, civil society organizations, advocacy groups, and mission-driven teams. Dr. Ezui brings experience facilitating mental health and resilience sessions for African human rights defenders.

Possible deliverables include a well-being consultation, facilitated team or leadership session, recommendations for support practices, retreat materials, or an organizational action plan. Sessions should respect participants' choice about disclosure and should not require people to recount distressing experiences.

This engagement focuses on organizational consulting and education. Where participants need specialized support, we discuss an appropriate referral approach for the setting with the commissioning organization.
